Elliot's First Bitework Session

Welcome to Elliot’s first bitework session! I have asked Paul to handle my puppy for this session. I'm using a soft puppy sleeve without my arm inside to start. What’s important to me when I give direction to the person holding the puppy is not to allow the puppy to spin. I ask that they hold the puppy securely by the chest. A harness would be appropriate to help hold your puppy as well. You don’t want the harness to be too tight on their neck. The purpose of holding the puppy is to build frustration and drive to want to run to bite the sleeve. I'm not using a line here and am just a couple feet away when Paul releases him. As I'm moving away from Elliot I'm making a noise with my voice, and rattling the stick to create the excitement of wanting to run to the sleeve. As Elliot comes in for the bite I move with him to absorb the impact. Watch the rest of the video to see how I build his grip on the sleeve.
